Club Update: A Bit About Unified Club, Spirit Club, and Student Congress

Unified Club

The first ever Unified Club at Central Regional High School is up and running. Unified Club is a group of students that will play sports and participate in other activities for and with people with intellectual disabilities.

Ms. Murphy is one of the main people in charge. The club recently elected officers: President Katelyn DiMichele, Vice President Emma Harmon, Secretary Kelsey DiMichele, Treasurer Jordan Rich, and for the Media Specialist Team Ava Snover, Beth Doderer, and Riley Zdenek.

The club participated in the Dash and Splash in Asbury Park for the Special Olympics on Saturday, November 13.  The club has other plans for the year to participate in other events like the Polar Bear Plunge and have many games and sporting events. The club is also looking to grow with many new members. All are welcome!

Spirit Club

The CRHS Spirit Club reached 100 members within the first few months of this school year.

The club has attended multiple games throughout the school year, including some field hockey and girls’ volleyball. They also sponsored Family Feud on December 2, after having a very successful movie night on October 27.

With the new officers  Meghan McGarrey and Arianna Marshall as Co-presidents, Jordan Rich as Vice President, Shaska Paul as Secretary, Shameeka Crawford-Nickons as Fundraising Chair and Mya Weigand as Social Media Coordinator, the club is constantly welcoming new members and is ready for an amazing year supporting our teams!

 

Student Congress

Our school’s Student Congress is already off to a busy year. The officers are Katelyn Stanzione, President; Jordan Rich,Vice President; Christopher Powers, Secretary; Natalie Brady, Treasurer; Alexandra Hehn, Social Media Coordinator, and Leeanna Romero as Publisher.

The Congress has participated in the Greek Festival, the Seaside Park Beach Cleanup, hosted their annual Halloween Costume Contest. Student Congress also planned Spirit Week and the Spirit Rally. 

The club will continue to welcome new members.
